What Our Year Looks Like
Faith
RSVP: Support of Seminarians
We pray for and financially support the men studying for the priesthood in our diocese.
Into the Breach
A video series built around Bishop Thomas Olmsted’s letter to Catholic men, watched together and discussed as a council. The question at the center: what does it mean to be a good husband, father, and Catholic gentleman today.
Rosary Coast to Coast
Every October, on the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, Catholics across the country gather at the same hour to pray the Rosary together in public. Father Ragan Council joined thousands of parishes nationwide in that prayer.
Eucharistic Procession
Our Knights walked in procession behind the Blessed Sacrament, a public witness to what we believe is truly present in the Eucharist.
What Our Year Looks Like
Family
Food for Families
We collected and delivered food to families in our community who needed it.
Family Night at the Crushers
A night out at the ForeFront Field for Knights and their families with the Lake Erie Crushers. Good food, exciting baseball, and no agenda beyond enjoying good company.
Good Friday Family Promotion
We invite families to watch “The Passion of the Christ” together on Good Friday, a quiet way to mark the day as a household.
Memorial Mass
Every year, we gather to remember Brother Knights and family members who’ve passed. First a Mass, then a dinner where we share their stories and our memories.
What Our Year Looks Like
Community
Coats for Kids
We purchase dozens of quality winter coats, then distribute them to local charities and into the hands of kids who need them most.
Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest
Students from four parish schools write essays for this annual contest. Our Knights read every one and choose the winners.
Helping Hands
We give financial support to a local mental health organization and to a ministry serving the incarcerated. Two groups doing challenging, unglamorous work, in our local community.
Free Throw Championship
Over 40 kids from local parishes step up to the line! Knights run the event to provide an athletic outlet for youth ages 9-14 and encourage the values of sportsmanship and healthy competition. Winners advance to district competition.

Life
Ultrasound Initiative
We joined a group of Knights of Columbus councils to fund an ultrasound machine for a pregnancy center. $5,000 came from Father Ragan Council. An ultrasound machine lets a pregnancy center show a mother her child before she decides anything else.
Special Olympics
We sponsored the Cleveland Polar Plunge with $2,500, funding training programs for athletes with intellectual disabilities. Without the support of the Knights, participants would not be able to train for the events that they love.
Pregnancy Center and Maternity Home Support
We gave financial support directly to centers and homes serving pregnant women and new mothers.
Pro-Life Keynote Speaker
We hosted the director of the Bowling Green pregnancy center as part of our speaker series, hearing firsthand what that work looks like on the ground.
